Looks Don’t Lie

Deaths in a nursing home are always natural, right? Or are they?

An old man dying in a nursing home shouldn’t cause a riot among his fellow residents. But it does—they don’t believe he died from natural causes.

Benedicte, the new student helper, doesn’t know what to make of it. None of her coworkers seem alarmed, and no one called the police, but Benedicte worries.

She worries so much that she involves one of the residents’ grandchildren, the handsome Steffen. Together they try to find out if it was murder, as the residents insist. Hopefully, they will clear everything up before anything else happens. And if they should kiss while they sleuth, Benedicte won’t mind—at all.

This novella is part of the Halsted series about love, secrets, courage—and the power of friendships. And it’s all happening in the small town of Halsted.

Timewise, this novella takes place before Photos Don’t Lie, but as with all the installments in the series, it is a standalone that can be read anytime—anywhere.
